Chicago’s largest chicken express delivery company, Chifa Express, got a big financial infusion from Illinois’ Department of Transit (DOT).
Chifa Express said Wednesday that it received $2,500,000 from the state Department of Public Works to extend its fleet of CHI express vehicles and expand its distribution network.
The CHI brand will continue to be an integral part of the company’s brand and brand image, CEO Dan Sosnik said.
CHI is headquartered in New York City and has more than 50 stores in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.
It offers the most convenient, reliable and most efficient delivery service in the Chicago area, according to its website.
Chifa said it will continue operating as an independent company, and it will use the $2 million in funding to expand its service in Illinois.
It has about 500 employees and operates about 400 restaurants in the metro area.
